Three male suspects, aged between 36 and 47, were arrested in Virginia by vigilant Vala uMgodi operatives on Sunday, 20 July.
This came after the operatives acted on intelligence-led information regarding a conspiracy to commit robbery.
The arrests took place when proactive and combat teams tactically intercepted a charcoal-coloured VW Polo, bearing Limpopo province registration numbers, as it was travelling along the Virginia way heading towards Virginia town.
A thorough search of the vehicle led to the discovery of two 9mm pistols.

One of these firearms was found concealed within the boot’s side lining, while the second 9mm pistol was located in the vehicle’s cubbyhole.
All three suspects have been taken into custody. They fac charges of possession of unlicensed firearms and conspiracy to commit robbery.
The suspects were all expected to appear in the Virginia Magistrates’ Court on these two charges soon.
