A woman’s body was found after being brutally murdered in the Masakala Administration Area on Friday, June 16. It is alleged that on the mentioned date at about 12:00, SAPS Maluti members responded to a complaint of a body of a female found lying outside an abandoned homestead in Masakala Administration Area.
According to Colonel Priscilla Naidu, Police Spokesperson, it was established that some of the body parts of the deceased were missing (her left ear partially removed, her right eye dug out, and the nipple on her right breast cut off). The woman was identified as Nomajama Khetsiwe (41). Some of her personal belongings were found a few metres away from her body.
According to her family, the woman was last seen on Monday, 12 June 2023, at her home in Masakala. Police suspect that her body was dumped where she was found.
The Alfred Nzo District Commissioner, Maj Gen Nompumelelo Majikijela, has called on the community of Masakala to join hands with the police for the speedy arrest of the suspect of this gruesome murder.
“Such cold and callous attack on a person cannot be condoned nor tolerated.
“The suspect must be traced and brought before justice for his heinous crime. I am appealing to the community to furnish any information about this murder,” added Maj Gen Majikijela.
A case of murder is under investigation.
