GQEBERHA – Nelson Mandela Bay Metro Police officers have apprehended a 46-year-old man in possession of narcotics: Tik and four bags of CAT, who later attempted to bribe officers with R200 while in police custody.
According to a statement issued by the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality, a police officer was conducting a patrol in Central when he noticed a 46-year-old man who started running upon seeing their marked vehicle at the intersection of Parliament and Clyde Street.
“The officers immediately gave chase and apprehended him as he attempted to hide inside a nearby shop,” the statement explained.
The suspect remains in custody and will appear in court soon.
