The man accused of killing popular Johannesburg DJ Warrick Stock, known as DJ Warras, will remain behind bars after the Johannesburg Magistrates’ Court denied him bail.
Victor Mthethwa Majola (44) is facing charges of premeditated murder and conspiracy to commit murder in connection with the fatal shooting of Stock outside the Zambesi Building in Johannesburg’s Central Business District on 16 December last year.

During the bail hearing, the defence argued that the State had failed to present evidence directly linking Majola to the commission of the crime.
According to Phindi Mjonondwane, NPA spokesperson for Gauteng, the State opposed the bail application, submitting that the accused was likely to evade trial.
The court further heard that Majola’s alibi could not be tested, as he elected not to testify during the proceedings.
In her ruling, the presiding magistrate raised concerns that the accused had provided conflicting residential addresses, could potentially intimidate witnesses known to him, and posed a flight risk if released on bail.
The case has been postponed to Wednesday 11 February for further investigations.
