HANKEY – United Barbarians RFC is gearing up for its annual Golf Day, which will take place on 7 November.
According to United Barbarians RFC secretary-general, Shannon Slabbert, this will be the fifth time the club has hosted the event.
“Each year, we work on improving the event and offering new elements. Over the last five years, the event has been successful,” said Slabbert.

Slabbert said the 2025 event was one of the club’s best years, with many golfers participating in the competition.
This year, organisers will introduce a change to the competition format, moving from a Two Ball Alliance to a Two Ball Alliance Scramble Drive.
Entry costs R300 per person and includes halfway refreshments, with prizes worth more than R20,000 up for grabs.
“We want golfers to book as early as possible,” said Slabbert.
Bookings can be made at the Hankey Country Club or by contacting Zana Gouws on 082 856 6848, Allister Abrahams on 078 192 6687 or Shannon Slabbert on 071 337 1044.
