BASEBALL fans are getting a rare chance to see some of the nation’s best players in action at the 26th South African National Masters’ Baseball Tournament which takes place at Londt Park this week until Saturday, October 13.

All nine provinces are competing in three separate divisions, namely, Elite League, Vets Division (over 45s) and the Challenge Division.

The baseball action kicks off today. From today until Friday the games will be played on three fields in Stella Londt Drive, Fernglen, from 08:00 each morning.

A softball friendly will also take place on Friday at 17:30, followed by a softballers’ reunion for all who have played the game in the past.

The Vets’ Final, Challenge Final and Elites’ Final will take place on Saturday, October 13, and the SA Masters’ squad will be chosen at the prize-giving.

Entry to the tournament is free.
