TWO teenagers from the Fort Beaufort Dancing Stars club have returned victorious from a national dancing competition, which was held in Durban.
Although they are both only 15 years old, the young couple, Athenkosi Daniëls and Annelique-lynn Ruiters, are making huge strides on the ballroom dancing front.
They have already won several competitions and their last victory was the cherry on their cake for 2019.
According to their dancing instructor, Regan Afrika, they danced in the novice section and had the big Durban crowd on their feet.
“It was hard work to prepare them for the competition,” Afrika told Komani-Karoo Express.
“It took two weeks to run them through their moves and we spent three full days of training at Fort Hare University. They really have mountains of talent and I see a bright future ahead of them,” Afrika said.
Apart from walking away with the crown in the ballroom section the were also placed third in the Latin American section.
Afrika thanked the local community for their support of fund-raising efforts which helped them cover travelling costs as well as accommodation in Durban.
Dancers from clubs across South Africa participated in the prestigious event.
