Police have launched a manhunt after the bodies of two men were found burnt to death in a shop in Lower Didimana village, some 60km outside Komani, on October 5.

Provincial police spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, said a customer had gone to a shop on Wednesday morning around 09:00 and after noticing the shop was closed, she peeped through the window.

“She saw smoke inside and immediately police were summoned to the scene where they found the bodies of two men, which were burnt inside the shop. One of the men’s hands were bound. It is suspected that the deceased slept in the shop,” she said.

A case of murder and arson was under investigation, she said, adding police were appealing to the community to assist them in the investigation and the identity of the deceased duo.

Naidu said anyone with information may contact station commander, Captain Sakhiwo Zenzile on 082 447 5348 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.

“All information is confidential, and all callers may remain anonymous,” she said.
