KOMANI – Kabelo Ralekoa (37) briefly appeared in the Ntabethemba Magistrate’s Court on 30 July for his alleged involvement in the murder of his 23-year-old girlfriend.

He was remanded in custody and the case was postponed to 6 August for a bail application.

According to police spokesperson Captain Yolisa Mgolodela, on 29 July, Ralekoa turned himself in to the police, following the death of his girlfriend, Siphosihle Disemba (23) in Mitford A/A, Ntabethemba (Komani).

She said that information in police records indicates that on 28 July, Ralekoa fetched Disemba from the home of her other boyfriend and assaulted her with a knobkerrie.

“It is believed that he assaulted her with a knobkerrie throughout the night,” said Mgolodela.

She said that on 29 July, Ralekoa realised that the victim had died, and he then went to the police to report the incident.
