At least 3 000 residents in Komani have embarked on a two-day protest which began on February 16, the second time in less than a month with the first two-day shut down occurring on January 26 and 27.
According to police spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, residents have continued with picketing in the street.

She said at least 3 000 residents are involved in the protest.
“There have been no serious incidents and no roads are closed,” said Naidu.
As previously reported by the Komani-Karoo Express, the two-day shutdown on January 26 and 27 was as a result of regular power outages, due to dilapidated municipal electrical infrastructure, lasting up to 16 days at times within the Enoch Mgijima Local Municipality.
