The body of the woman that was swept away following the flood in Komani yesterday, February 18, was recovered some 2km away from where she was initially taken by the water.
She had been driving in Owen Street when the bridge got flooded. Her family identified her near Rhawutini Informal Settlement.
The heavy rain, which led to flooding, affected various areas throughout the district.

She said that Eastern Cape Premier, Oscar Mabuyane, visited the 145 families that were relocated to the Gali Thembani facility.
“Gift of the Givers provided relief to those affected,” she added.
CHDM executive mayor, Wongama Gela, sent condolences to the bereaved families.
“We extend our deepest condolences to the families, friends and their loved ones. The floods have caused so much devastation and pain. As government we are doing our utmost best to save lives. We urge the community and motorists to exercise caution in the area as more rains are expected,” Gela said.
The rain also affected the Queendustria and Komani Business Parks. Up and coming water tank producing company, Go Green Roto Moulding was also flooded.
