THIS year’s SPAR Kirkwood Wildsfees line-up of fun for kids is packed with wild thrills, fun adventures and getting up close to some of their favourite characters.
The 18th SPAR Kirkwood Wildsfees, which starts runs from June 28 to June 30, will be an unforgettable experience for the whole family.
Near the entrance to the festival will be a maze of plastic waste, plenty of rubbish and recyclable art pieces. Quatro Events will be at the festival for the first time, bringing a bungi trampoline that will allow three festinos to get boosted into the air and then land on the trampoline. There will also be a parachute rocket and Zorb rollers on water for festival goers.
Kids will be able to kuier with the sleep specialists at the Bed Centre to find the right mattress to ensure a good night’s rest. And, while the parents are talking sleep there will be a giant mattress for kids to jump on.
Those planning for a future career can find out what the stars may hold for them in the Southern African Large Telescope (SALT) mobile planetarium.
There will be a wide selection of Fun 4 U rides where kids of all ages can enjoy wild thrills.
There will also be an opportunity to meet Spiderman, Peppa Pig and George, Chipmunks (Alvin, Simon, Theodore), Barney, Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, the Minions and Paw Patrol on the festival grounds Saturday and Sunday.
As always, the Wildsfees Coco-Cola Fun Zone is presenting an action-packed programme of fun. There will be board games, singing and dancing competitions – where young visitors meet the characters, take part in a Baby Shark dance-off and stand a chance to win spot prizes.

Adult tickets cost R150 per day. A weekend pass will be R350. For festival goers aged between seven and 17 tickets cost R70 per day for Friday, Saturday and Sunday and R150 for a weekend pass. SASSA pensioners tickets can be purchased at the gate only for R100 per day for Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
