“I WAS getting terribly bored over weekends, and had to find a way to have more interaction with people,” quipped Mike Naidoo, a Molteno resident.
“I was so excited to find this food trailer available for sale, and couldn’t believe my luck when I saw what a good condition it was in.”
“Mike Naidoo often prepared dishes over weekends, and advertised them on the Molteno WhatsApp group. Many folks loved to buy something from him over the weekends – he is a real Molteno legend,” mentioned one of his regular clients.
Naidoo announced this new venture on the Molteno trading group, just after he acquired and equipped his food trailer.
He was just planning a trial run for the first weekend, but was sold out before midday. He serves a very basic menu, like “not-mild” curry and rice, burgers, grilled chicken and sandwiches.
“I have decided to support local businesses and I buy all my ingredients locally,” said Naidoo.
“The main intention of my new business is to teach my children the art of entrepreneurship. They should understand that money is earned and they will have to assist me in the running of the business during school holidays.
“Money will not just be ‘coming from Dad’,” he said with a twinkle in his eye.
