On September 28, Ward 28 Councillor Nombulelo Makasi introduced the contractor who will be embarking on a six month project to provide at least 202 houses in Molteno (Airstrip area) with electricity.
A project steering committee was established with members which were elected by the community and infills from phase one and phase two will be accommodated in this project which is phase 3.
“This is a vital moment for the ward. We are relieved that a contractor has been appointed and they will begin work immediately,” said Makasi.
“Everything will be above board and the community will be represented by the PSC and myself. A community liaison officer will be appointed to be a link between the contractor, the municipality, and the community.”
This project is valued at R3.7 million and community members will participate.
