Police in Aberdeen is investigating a case of concealment of birth after a newborn baby was found at a dumpsite in Aberdeen on February 3.

According to police spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu, it is alleged that on Thursday, February 2 a group of people was scavenging through the rubbish at the dumpsite in Aberdeen when they found a newborn baby girl in a yellow packet.

“The child was already deceased when the police were alerted,” said Naidu.

She further said a case of concealment of birth is under investigation.
