“This led to his arrest and the recovery of the motor vehicle that had been given to them by the deceased’s mother.”

Further investigation then led detectives to a yard belonging to a family member of the suspect, where the stripped vehicle belonging to the deceased’s mother was recovered.

The suspect was later arrested in Clubview, Qonce.

Continued investigation led detectives to Mngqesha Location, where a firearm was recovered and a second suspect was immediately arrested.

Both suspects have been charged with murder. A case of theft of a motor vehicle was added against one suspect. The other suspect was found in possession of an unlicensed firearm and an additional case was also added.

The Acting District Commissioner Brigadier Zinakile Freddie commended the teamwork displayed by the detectives in ensuring that justice will be served even in cases where there were no clues and suspects were unknown.

“Your determination and dedication in revealing the truth in this case gives hope to the community and to the deceased’s family,” Freddie added.
