In Zwelihle he exemplifies what it means to wear multiple hats with style and purpose.

More than a father, Notwala is a social entrepreneur, creative visionary, humanitarian and environmentalist who has seamlessly woven careers in entertainment, business and public service.

For more than 15 years he has been a driving force in the entertainment industry as a DJ, music producer and events organiser.

But Notwala’s story goes far deeper than spinning tracks and managing events. “I’ve always believed creativity and community service aren’t mutually exclusive,” having transformed his artistic passions into a thriving business empire.

Through his company, Blue Sky South Africa, Notwala offers comprehensive event management, equipment hire, audiovisual production, music-studio services, photography, branding and digital design. The business has become a go-to resource for events across the Overberg region, proving that local talent can compete with the best.

Notwala’s impressive educational portfolio reflects his commitment to continuous growth. Armed with a Senior Certificate from Elsenburg Agricultural Institute, a Diploma in Entrepreneurship from Cape Peninsula University of Technology and a Diploma in Public Accountability from Stellenbosch University, he’s currently pursuing an Advanced Diploma while balancing multiple professional responsibilities.

“Education has always been my foundation. Whether mixing music or managing municipal procurement the principles of excellence and accountability remain the same.”

Since 2021 Notwala has served the Overstrand Municipality with distinction, working across diverse departments, including Local Economic Development, Sports & Recreation and Fleet Management.

Currently he serves as a buyer in Supply Chain Management within the Finance Department, where his entrepreneurial background provides unique insights into efficient procurement processes.

His municipal role isn’t just a job; it’s an extension of his commitment to community development. Working in various departments has given him a comprehensive understanding of how local government functions and where improvements can be made.

What sets Siyabulela apart is his refusal to be confined by traditional career boundaries. As a father he understands the importance of creating opportunities for the next generation. As an environmentalist and humanitarian he sees every project through the lens of community impact. “Whether I’m organising a wedding managing a municipal procurement process or producing music I’m always asking, ‘How can this benefit our community?’”

Siyabulela’s journey from the turntables to the township boardrooms represents a new model of professional success, one where creativity, education and public service intersect to create meaningful change.

In a world that often demands choosing between artistic passion and stable employment Notwala proves that with vision, education and determination one can build a career that feeds both the soul and the community.
