An unidentified body was discovered among the waves at Die Plaat on Sunday afternoon. Hikers investigating what seemed to be a suspicious object in the surf before the grim discovery.

The hikers alerted police after discovering a male body during their hike in Gansbaai. While on the outing, they noticed what appeared to be an object among the waves.

Gansbaai Courant reports that the hikers discovered that as they moved closer towards the object, they discovered that it was the body of an unidentified man.

Hermanus Times reached out to local police on further information but have yet to receive any correspondence by the time of publication.
