And at Preez Designs in Hermanus this winning recipe is followed to a T. At this new jewellery store, which opened its doors in Village Square, Hermanus in August, the philosophy is simple: stunning designs that turn heads, made in-house, with excellent craftsmanship, where quality is remembered long after the price is forgotten.
“We specialise in personalised pieces and pride ourselves in excellent customer service,” owner Roux du Preez said. “We also have a Preez range of luxurious gifts for loved ones.”
Preez Designs was established in 2011, and Du Preez decided to spread his wings to Hermanus. “We are here for the clients, and although our main focus is creating custom designs we also have an in-store range of beautifully crafted designs. Our manufacturers work with all precious metals, which can be handsomely adorned with any semi-precious and precious stones.”
Du Preez has a degree in jewellery design and successfully completed his MQA Trade Test. “Our team of three members includes two apprentice jewellers, Catea an Leigh, and me,” he proudly states. He is passionate about the whole process of jewellery manufacturing, from the design to the delivery of the end-product. Visiting this shop is an experience on its own. Each piece of jewellery is crafted with love and is unique to the environment, from the most beautiful fynbos to marine life.
Preez Designs also stocks Martelize Wessels jewellery, Jessica Jane and With Grace – all local designers.
Another local whose merchandise is for sale at Preez Designs is Fede Eyeware. This is a small, independent factory-to-optometrist eyewear distribution company focused on distributing high-end quality designer eyewear.
