What started in 1995 has grown into Hermanus’ premier destination for toys, games and educational fun. The current owners Theresa and Chris Fenn, continues the proud tradition established by previous owners, maintaining the store’s core philosophy: “Learn through play”. This belief shines through in its carefullycurated selection of educational toys that make learning an adventure. “We believe in putting our clients first,” Theresa declared. “That’s why we will go the extra mile to get what they want.”

From the founding owner Jane Day to Martin and Madelaine de Klerk and Patrick and Glendyr Busby, who nurtured the business for years, to Theresa, who continues to innovate and grow, Kidz Stuff represents the best of small-town business.
Each owner has brought their own special touch while maintaining the store’s family-friendly atmosphere and commitment to quality.
“We had loads of fun, building shelves on site and evolving for nine years before selling,” Madelaine said. “Some of the highlights were the vouchers and the fact that the children could laybuy toys and would be able to pay off their own stuff as they saved up.”
According to Patrick and Glendyr Busby Christmas was the best time, filled with all the exciting goodies for young and old.
“Christmas lights, crackers, games, puzzles and all the latest must have toys for all to play,” Glendyr said. “We had many happy and successful years in the shop, meeting many wonderful long-term customers and friendly people, local and upcountry over the years. In 2016 we decided to sell and move on full-time with our other endeavours.
Theresa has since made tremendous improvements to the shop and is doing fantastic sales both through the shop and online.
The Overstrand community takes this opportunity to wish her, as the fourth owner of Kidz Stuff, many congratulations on the occasion of its 30th anniversary and that the shop may see many more years ahead as the best-loved toy store in Hermanus.”

“Two years ago we converted our website into a full Online store. The store is updated daily and contains details of most products as available in the shop,” Theresa pointed out.
“During our birthday month of November we are running Lego, Sylvanian Families and Imagimags promotions where customers enter to win prizes. We will also have one category each week that we will promote with discounts off customer purchases.
“We just want to take a moment to say a big thank you to all our wonderful customers! Your support means the world to us – without you, we simply wouldn’t be here.
