Saturday 27 September is National Cupcake Day. But this day is more about than just indulging your sweet tooth, it is a day set out on the calender to raise funds for the Cupcakes 4 Kids with Cancer initiative.
You can become involved by baking cupcakes and donating it to be sold at participating malls, including the Whale Coast Mall in Sandbaai, by donating ingredients and/or packaging or buying cupcakes on the day. You can also visit the Cupcakes 4 Kids with Cancer website to register as a baker who will donate cupcakes or make a donation online. This year’s theme is “Bake it Forward”
and it encourages people to spread kindness and hope by supporting the initiative. All proceeds will go toward essentials, including medical costs, nutritional support, diapers and more for children undergoing cancer therapy.
Whale Coast Mall invites local bakers who would like to help make a difference to contact Amina Gierdien, the local coordinator, on 082 373 4786 to pledge their contributions. “Let’s bake hope and sprinkle goodness this National Cupcake Day!” was their message. The event will be held on 27 September at the Whale Coast Mall. Visit the Whale Coast Mall Facebook page for more info.
