Suspected stolen meat confiscated by the police.

KIMBERLEY – Effective collaboration between the police and community members led to the arrest of four suspects in two separate incidents involving the possession of livestock or produce suspected to be stolen in the Pixley Ka Seme District on Saturday, 4 October.

In the first incident, police in Victoria-West received information about meat suspected to be stolen and stored at a local residence.

Members swiftly followed up on the information and located the identified premises. Upon arrival, members discovered a slaughtered sheep inside the house. The 40-year-old female found on the property was questioned but could not provide a satisfactory explanation for her possession of the meat. She was subsequently arrested for possession of suspected stolen livestock or produce.

In an unrelated incident in Philipstown, SAPS members acted on intelligence regarding possible stock theft at another residence.

A 70-year-old male and female, along with a 35-year-old male, were found in possession of meat but were unable to give a reasonable account of its origin. All three were arrested for possession of suspected stolen livestock or produce.
