Five men were wounded during a drive-by shooting in Fisantekraal

CAPE TOWN – Five young men were shot and wounded in a drive-by shooting in Fisantekraal, Durbanville, on Sunday evening, 9 November.

The incident occurred at approximately 20:20 at the corner of Dulah Omar and Yolandi du Preez streets.

Western Cape police spokesperson Sergeant Wesley Twigg confirmed that Durbanville police have opened five cases of attempted murder following the attack.

“Police officers responded to a complaint of a shooting at the address,” said Twigg. “Upon arrival, the victims had already been taken to medical facilities in private vehicles.”

According to police reports, the victims—aged between 24 and 31—were standing on the street corner when a blue Toyota Tazz approached them. The occupants opened fire on the group before fleeing the scene.

All five men sustained gunshot wounds. Their current condition has not been disclosed.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting are under investigation, and no arrests have been made.

Police are appealing to the public for assistance with the case.
