While the drivers are busy preparing for the Belgian Grand Prix — that glorious, terrifying sweep through Spa-Francorchamps — the real action has been happening… off the track this past fortnight. Wimbledon, a London club, surfboards, celebrity sightings, dynasty-building, and a child team principal.
Italian strike force: Kimi takes Wimbledon
Kimi Antonelli jetted into London this week for one very important mission: cheering on fellow Italian Jannick Sinner at Wimbledon.

Two of sport’s hottest young talents — Sinner on the tennis court, Antonelli on the circuits — united by heritage, divided by sport, bonded by pasta and, presumably, very good hair. The cameras caught Kimi in the Royal Box with Roger Federer. Meanwhile, Jannick reportedly told him: “Mate, when you’re threading a car through Eau Rouge at 200mph, I’ll return the favour.”
George Norris: The tiniest team principal
Right. Before anyone gets confused — and I can already see the paddock group chats lighting up — this is NOT Lando Norris. This is George Norris, an eight-year-old British petrolhead who has just been crowned the winner of the UK’s very first Hot Wheels Tiniest Team Principal competition, run by the legends at Mattel. The two have actually met, with Lando and George being photographed at Silverstone.

The kid is eight years old and already holds a team principal title. Meanwhile, the rest of us are still figuring out what we’re having for lunch. The competition challenged young fans to manage their own miniature racing team, and George apparently showed “exceptional strategic thinking.” Which, given he’s eight, is either incredibly promising or mildly terrifying for the rest of the grid.
Jack Wolff : Scoring first karting win
And speaking of dynasties being built, let’s talk about Jack Wolff. Toto and Susie Wolff’s son took his first-ever karting victory this week, and honestly? The surprise is that it took this long.
Toto runs Mercedes. Susie runs F1 Academy. The Wolff family has more motorsport influence than most governments. The win was in the IAME Series Italy. Unfortunately, Toto and Susie missed the race — they were both busy at Silverstone (Toto with Mercedes, Susie with F1 Academy) and followed it on his phone.

Jack’s got the name, he’s got the bloodline, and apparently, he’s got the pace. Watch this space. By the time Spa comes around this weekend, little Jack might be giving his dad helpful tyre strategy notes from the paddock. “Dad, I told you to push harder in Sector 2…”
Lando and Alix: London hotel sighting
Lando Norris was spotted this week making a swift exit from The Twenty Two, an exclusive private members’ club in Mayfair, London. Lando was caught on camera sprinting to his car outside the club, grinning from ear to ear. Alix Earle was reportedly also at the club. Although they left the club separately, the rumour mill is putting one and one together. And what a grin it was. That grin said everything. That grin should have its own sponsor. That grin should be on a billboard.

For those who haven’t added Alix to their feed yet, she’s a beauty, fashion, and lifestyle content creator with tens of millions of followers. She looks fantastic. Lando looks like a man who knows he’s been spotted but genuinely does not care. Which, honestly, is very on-brand.
Kim and Lewis: Surfs up on the 4th of July
And now for the cultural collision no one saw coming: Kim Kardashian and Lewis Hamilton celebrating the 4th of July together during a lakeside family trip with Khloé present. And by “together,” I mean literally together — there’s video — the two of them on surfboards. Lewis Hamilton — seven-time world champion, now Ferrari’s most ambitious signing — and Kim Kardashian, catching waves side by side.
Now, I need you to sit with that image for a moment. Formula 1 royalty and reality TV royalty, sharing a board, sharing a wave, sharing a moment of very American Independence Day energy. The cross-pollination of their respective empires is honestly extraordinary. She’s got the shapewear empire. He’s got the championship trophies. Together? They could probably buy a small country.
We did say this was going to be off-track, but we didn’t specify which track. That was a wave. A literal wave. On a surfboard. Lewis Hamilton, ladies and gentlemen — the man does it all.
Arvid Lindblad : First driving lesson (on the road)
Now, here’s a plot twist for you. Arvid Lindblad — Racing Bulls driver, one of the most talked-about young talents in the entire paddock, a kid who races at 200 miles per hour around circuits most of us would cry driving — has taken his very first road car driving lesson this week.
That’s right. The boy who can thread a Formula 1 car through Monaco without breaking a sweat has been told he needs to indicate before turning. He needs to check his mirrors. He needs L-plates. He needs to sit in a car with an instructor and learn.
The irony is not lost on anyone. This is a kid who could out-drive most of the grid on a race circuit, being asked to remember which pedal is the clutch. In the build-up to the Belgian Grand Prix, of all places — Spa, where you’ll be doing 320 kilometres per hour in a straight line — and his road car instructor is just trying to get him to signal correctly at a roundabout.
Adele visits McLaren at Woking
Adele visited the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking this week. Adele. At McLaren. In Woking. Because her son Angelo is obsessed with karting.
The official McLaren video is titled “Adele Visits McLaren Mastercard F1 Team | McLaren Racing,” and it is exactly as spectacular as it sounds. Adele — multi-Grammy winner, voice of a generation, person who once made an entire stadium cry with someone like you — touring the factory floor. Meeting the team. Getting hands-on with the machinery. Being an actual, real-life racing fan.
And the reason? Her son loves karting. That is the most beautiful motivation. She didn’t come because of the glamour. She came because an 13- year-old boy said “Mum, I want to go fast.” And Adele, being Adele, apparently said “Right, we’re going to the best place in the world to learn about fast.”
She also tried the simulator with Oscar Piastri and met Lando Norris and CEO Zak Brown (not Zak spelled “Zac” in some sources, though both appear). She described the building as feeling like “arriving into space.”
Adele at McLaren. Because of karting. Because of Angelo. Because a mum showed up for her kid’s dream. That is the energy this weekend needs. That is the spirit of Spa. Fast cars, big hearts, and a legendary voice saying: “Let’s go.”
Iconic. Absolutely iconic.
