England demolished New Zealand 33-19 at Twickenham to crush the All Blacks’ Grand Slam aspirations.

Many commentators backed England as favourites for this weekend’s marquee fixture. The crowd responded to the Haka with rousing renditions of “Swing Low, Sweet Chariot”.

England started at an electric pace, taking the aerial battle to New Zealand immediately. The hosts entered the All Blacks’ 22-metre zone twice within eight minutes.

However, England failed to convert early pressure as New Zealand’s breakdown work relieved the danger. Leicester Fainga’anuku opened the scoring in the 15th minute after brilliant interplay by Beauden Barrett, who failed to convert.

Cody Taylor extended New Zealand’s lead to 0-12 just three minutes later. The All Blacks attacked through the wider channels before Taylor found crucial space to score.

England responded positively despite the quick double blow from their opponents. The hosts created several opportunities through George Ford’s tactical kicking and strong forward play.

Ollie Lawrence finally broke England’s try drought in the 26th minute. The powerful midfielder proved unstoppable once he set his sights on the line.

George Ford further reduced the deficit with a perfectly-struck drop goal. The fly-half repeated the feat just before half-time, making it 11-12 to New Zealand.

England capitalised immediately when Taylor received a yellow card early in the second half. Sam Underhill powered over from a lineout to give England their first lead.

Ford thought he had scored in the 49th minute however, officials cancelled his try for an earlier offside infringement from the lineout.

Fraser Dingwall extended England’s advantage with a superb solo effort in the 55th minute. Lawrence’s clever deception created the space for Dingwall’s clinical finish.

Will Jordan responded for New Zealand after Ben Earl’s yellow card reduced England’s numbers. The wing walked over after patient phase play near England’s line.

Ford’s penalty kick extended England’s lead to 28-19 with five minutes remaining. Henry Pollock sealed victory by pouncing on a wayward All Blacks pass.

Pollock’s kick found Tom Roebuck, who finished brilliantly in the corner. The final score of 33-19 represented England’s most impressive performance of the Autumn Nations Series.

England’s convincing victory ended New Zealand’s hopes of a perfect European tour.
