I think it is safe to say we are all loving our parkrun on Audacia, especially on a beautiful morning such as last Saturday (17 May).
The fresh air, the views, the camaraderie and the exercise, all food for the soul.
However, it is evident that not all are loving it.
Quite the opposite, in fact.
Stellenbosch Municipality has received complaints alleging that some parkrunners did not stick to the approved course as laid out, marked with signs and hazard tape, and indicated by marshals.
The second complaint concerned traffic at the traffic lights on the R44.
Folks, please, we do not want to lose the Root44 parkrun. Stick to the route, keep your voices down and arrive in time so traffic doesn’t build up at the traffic light.
It would be really sad if Stellenbosch Municipality closed us down. It is literally in your, er, legs.
Let’s do this right.
