Supporters of Stellenbosch Hospice gathered in the hall of the Ida’s Valley Volkskerk for the organisation’s first-ever high tea on Sunday 6 September.

The event brought together 190 guests for an afternoon filled with beautiful tables, delicious treats, music and laughter.

“The day was about much more than fundraising; it was about people coming together because they care,” said Jennilee Geduld, general manager of Stellenbosch Hospice.

“A heartfelt ‘thank you’ to every table host who opened their tables and their hearts, every guest who bought a ticket and Jesmone Damons, who contributed towards the music and helped create such a special atmosphere.”

Hospice is about more than illness and loss, Geduld stressed.

“It is about dignity, compassion and walking alongside patients and families when they need support most. The funds raised will help Stellenbosch Hospice continue providing this care within our community,” she added.

“The high tea reminded us that sometimes a small act of kindness can become something much bigger – a ticket becomes support, support becomes care, care becomes comfort, and comfort reminds someone that they are not alone.”
