Youth gather for inspirational celebration

Voortrekker Park Resort in Strand played host to an inspiring and unforgettable Youth Day celebration on Saturday 14 June, co-hosted by Boland Islamic Council Women’s League (BICWL) and Serving Our Underprivileged People (SOUP). The event, themed “For the Youth, by the Youth – Teamwork Makes a Dream Work,” was a resounding success, drawing 88 young people aged 15 to 20 from various Boland communities, including Paarl, Stellenbosch, Strand, Eerste River, Macassar, and Sandvlei. The day was guided by 16 passionate facilitators and supported by 10 dedicated EXCO members. A major highlight was the presence of special guest speakers Yusuf Daniels and his daughter Thameena Daniels, popular TikTok and TV personalities, who captivated the audience with their uplifting energy and powerful message. Each youth participant received a commemorative T-shirt, a certificate, and a well-stocked goodie bag, generously sponsored by ER24. Organizers extended a heartfelt thank you to all volunteers, sponsors, speakers, and supporters whose contributions made the event a phenomenal success. Pictured is the girls group of participants.
