Young Bafana (YB) were in high spirits this past weekend as all four of their teams performed well in matches played against Tableview FC on Saturday (9 April).
It was perfect weather for soccer and the games form part of pre-season friendlies, ahead of the upcoming HPL (High Performance League) season. All teams played competitive games with strong opponents, which saw positive results.
The under-12’s started the day with a convincing win of 5–0, followed by their u14’s with a 0–0 draw. The under-16’s came through with a tight 3–2 win, and finally the under-18’s with a draw 1–1.
YB has also been doing well in the LFA, their first team under the guidance of coach Justin Noble and assistant coach Ishmael Nketu, remains unbeaten in the LFA Senior League. They played Bazuka United last Thursday and won convincingly 2–0. Goals were scored by Chuma Quthu and Kholekile Warner.
