Presenter Andreas Groenewald, freelance environmental educator, field and nature guide, will be covering the aftermath of the Alaskan earthquake, geology and natural disasters. Somerset West: Locals have a unique opportunity to listen to a Creation presentation by Pieter le Roux of Creation Ministries International at Helderberg College, 27 Annandale Street, at 18:00. With many people no longer believing the Bible and its message, Le Roux has a particular passion and enthusiasm to communicate the truth of God’s word and the authority of the Bible in this scientific age. As a trained zoologist he takes great pleasure to show people how the Bible, and in particular the creation history in Genesis, which is foundational to the gospel, is relevant to all of reality. The presentation will be followed by a question-and-answer period where anyone can ask any related question. After the presentation a wide range of books, magazines, DVDs and other resource material will be on sale. Somerset West: Helderbergers interested in local heritage are invited to a combined meeting of the Helderberg Renaissance Foundation and the Helderberg chapter of the Institute of Architects to discuss heritage in the Helderberg. The Helderberg Renaissance Foundation is an NPC and a registered conservation body with Heritage Western Cape. All are welcome. Strand: The Sectional Title Association Strand (Stas) invites all owners and tenants, or any other interested parties, to its annual general meeting to be held in the Strand North Dutch Reformed church hall in Brand Street at 18:00. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the management report, propose changes to the constitution, approve audited financial statements for 2022-’23 and the proposed budget for 2023-’24 as well as the appointment of the auditor and the election of committee members. Stas has extended an invitation to JP Smith, Mayco Member for Safety and Security, as guest speaker to deliver the keynote address. Ward 83 councillor Carl Punt will also attend and be available to answer any questions. Admission is free.

The sunset parade starts at 19:00, followed by the carol singing led by the South African Navy Band. The entrance fee is a small donation into the non-perishable items box at the gate.
