Strand: Sencit Resthaven Old Age Home hosts a fundraising langarm dance with the popular Elginairs Band at Strand Town Hall at 19:00. The cost is R130 per person and the dress code is semi-formal. Somerset West: Radloff Park’s beloved annual Tree Planting Day takes place at the lush surrounds from 09:00 to 12:00. The initiative is run by the Friends of Radloff Park (FORP) committee, a group of volunteers whose overarching aim is to protect and preserve the beautiful public space, and calls on families to spend a peaceful morning in nature to commemorate a lost loved one. The tree planting will coincide with Radloff Park’s first ever Dogs Fun Day proudly hosted by FORP too. An easy obstacle course promises lots of laughs for both children and adults and their pooches. Registration begins at 10:00 at the park ablution block. Entry costs R20 per obstacle team and R20 per show category, with proceeds donated to Kennels 4 a Cause. Strand: Die Hottentots Holland-tak van die Vrouelandbouvereniging (VLV) vergader om 09:30 in die onthaalsaal van die Strand-Noord-gemeente. Dit is ’n kleiner groepie wat interessante sprekers reël en handvaardighede uitstal. Die organisasie is ook by gemeenskapsprojekte betrokke. Belangstellendes word hartlik genooi om ’n gesellige oggend saam met die VLV-vroue te geniet. Anna Tough van die Orgaanskenkingsorganisasie van SA sal besoekers as gasspreker toespreek.
