Somerset West: Situated on the stunningly scenic and historic Lourensford Wine Estate, is the weekend Lourensford Market, which kicks off with the popular Twilight Market every Friday evening from 17:00 to 21:00. Market goers can look forward to dinner, drinks and live entertainment for any crowd – family, friends, friends of friends and even that favourite colleague. The live music starts at 18:00. The market is pet friendly, provided that four-legged family members are on a leash. The market also takes place on Saturday from 11:00 to 16:00 and Sundays from 10:00 to 15:00.

Somerset West: As part of its introductory Thrift Saturdays, which incorporates thrift vendors into the usual mix, the Lourensford Market offers a hanepoot picking adventure from 07:00 to 15:00 today and tomorrow (Sunday). Pick your own and pay R26/kg. No booking required and no entry fee. There will also be tractor rides, fruit sales, pancakes, food stalls and kiddies entertainment and simply all-round fun for the whole family!

Strand: The Boland Islamic Council Women’s League will host its annual Pink Walk for Cancer at Harmony Park on Gordon’s Bay Road. This year the selected beneficiary is Pink Drive, an NGO dedicated to creating and promoting awareness about cancer in South Africa. Young and old are encouraged to support and enter the event, which costs R30 per entry and includes a bandana. Participants can choose between the 5 km or 8 km event. All entries are to be paid in cash with completed entry forms and race numbers to be issued. Refreshments will be provided at the 2 km, 4 km and 6 km marks, and several food stalls and entertainment will also be available. An anti-litter rule will be followed.
