Somerset West: The Helderberg Dutch Reformed Church will host the Classical Sounds Choir and Orchestra for their annual free concert at 16:00. Local musicians have banded together to bring some of the most popular classical pieces to life, delighting audiences with a programme that includes works by Karl Jenkins, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Antonín Dvorák, Camille Saint-Saëns and more. Local up-and-coming vocalist 16-year-old Morgan Ehmke, who was nominated winner for two of the Cape Town Eisteddfod voice categories, will showcase her wonderful talent with some of her favourite pieces. Other soloists include the young baritone from Paarl, Nicolaas van der Westhuizen, and piano virtuoso Bennie van Eeden. Donations are welcome and will go toward the promotion of classical music and supporting young musicians in need.
