Helderbergers are notified of planned maintenance work in identified areas that will result in water-supply disruptions.
The Steenbras Water Treatment Plant will be shut off for annual maintenance for a period of two weeks from Tuesday (6 June) until Friday 16 June. An alternative water supply will be re-routed to the Steenbras water-supply areas. Residents in the Somerset area are kindly requested to reduce their water consumption in this period to ensure sustained water supply throughout the network.
This work forms part of the Water and Sanitation Directorate’s proactive infrastructure maintenance and upgrade programme, which ensures the future continuity of water supply by addressing the issue of unaccounted-for water.
