The Somerset West police are investigating two cases of murder after two men were claimed in two separate fatal stabbing incidents in Sir Lowry’s Pass.

Police responded to the first incident on Saturday (25 February) when a 26-year-old man was allegedly stabbed by his partner in Brinkhuis Street around 20:00.

According to Sergeant Suzan Jantjies, a spokesperson for the Somerset West police, the incident was reported by a neighbour who rushed to the Sir Lowry’s Pass satellite police station following the stabbing, allegedly by the victim’s female partner.

The 28-year-old suspect was arrested for murder after the victim succumbed to his wounds while en route to hospital.

Police are still looking for a suspect in the second murder whichoccurred in the Rasta Kamp informal settlement on Sunday (26 February). Jantjies confirmed that members responded to the stabbing at 02:25. “According to an eyewitness, the incident sprouts from a fight which broke out between two men residing on the same property. The deceased was later found with several stab wounds and passed away while on his way to hospital,” she said.
