On Thursday 28 December the Fire and Rescue Services were called out to a trailer on fire near Bikini Beach in Gordon’s Bay.
Details around what exactly happened were not forthcoming, but photos of the incident circulated on social media.
Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson, Jermaine Carelse, confirmed that a call was received at approximately 15:40 of a trailer alight on Beach Road near Bikini Beach.
“Firefighters from Strand were quickly on scene and extinguished the fire by 15:50. It was a generator on the trailer that caught alight. No injuries were reported,” explains Carelse.
