Rally driver Johann Zulch and his navigator, Strand resident Tania Vermaak, enjoyed a cautious return to rallying in the 2022 Freightmore Xpress Riebeek Valley Rally in Malmesbury on Saturday 24 September. The event was the sixth and final race of this year’s 2022 Western Cape Club Rally Championship. The pair crossed the line in their 439 WBMK S2 Ceres Toyota Ford Escort 1600 Sport in 11th place overall. The event was won by Warren Scholtz and Justin Gay, who claimed their first overall victory in their 444 CPMCC S5 Subaru Impreza WRX STi 2.0 Turbo 4×4. They were followed by Ismaeel Davids and Yusuf Ganief in second, and Owen Jones and Aden Bredenkamp, the Western Cape Club Rally champions, in third place.
