Editor, journalist and author Ambre Nicholson addressed Somerset College’s learners at their Current Affairs Assembly on Tuesday 26 February. In her speech Nicholson emphasised the need for young people to build a capacity for purposeful agency to confront gender bias, sexism and other forms of oppression in their lives. She also mentioned the significance of five South African women in her newly published book, A-Z of Amazing South African Women. She also challenged the learners to do three key things, common to all these women: ask questions
