The golf first team of Somerset College have qualified to participate in the National High School Golf Championships. This is the first time golfers of the school will strut their stuff on the greens at the prestigious competition. The four-player strong team comprises Michael Raggett, Annalie Swanepoel, Megan Streicher and Hayden Morgan-Evens. They participated in the Boland Golf Union High School’s Championships in Worcester on Monday 15 April and placed second behind the team of De Villiers Graaff High School, earning them a spot as the second high school team from the union to play at Koro Creek Golf Estate in Limpopo in August. The team handed in a combined score of 5 over par, which was exceptional on a day when the scoring conditions were tough. A total of 13 teams participated in the championships, including the top golfing schools affiliated to the union. The team plays at De Zalze Golf Estate and are excited about the challenge.Foto:
