Reaching out to the community is one of the pillars of Helderberg High School, which recently partnered with Crafters Inn for a project to assist homeless people during the cold winter nights. Learners, like Chido Shambare and Maya Ilgmann, are casting on and crocheting bedrolls from plastic bags, which will be handed over to the school’s community partner for distribution to the homeless. Thanks to a donation of crocheting needles from Crafters Inn, learners are hard at work creating the items. More donations of plastic bags are needed and can be dropped off at Crafters Inn at Helderberg Village Walk in Caledon Street, Somerset West.
