China Eve Fisher (15) from Strand has been named a finalist in the Pre-Teen category of Teen Universe RSA. The national finals take place at the picturesque Nelson’s Creek Wine Estate in Paarl on Sunday 13 September.
A learner at Rhenish Girls’ High School in Stellenbosch, China Eve is no stranger to the spotlight running in the family. Her mother, Rechaux Browne, appeared on season 2 of the KykNET reality TV series Die Brug and placed in the top 30 at Mrs South Africa 2025. She has been nominated as a finalist for Voelgoed magazine’s Woman of Inspiration 2026.
For Browne, watching her daughter step onto this stage is a full-circle moment, a legacy of women uplifting women, passed from mother to daughter.
“When I found out I had made it as a finalist I felt as if I was floating, like a crown had been placed on my heart before it ever touched my head,” China Eve declared. “This means so much more to me than a title; it’s proof that if one believes in oneself and keeps showing up, one’s dreams really can come true. I want every girl watching to know they don’t have to be perfect to be chosen; they just have to be brave enough to try.”
Browne shared her own message of support: “To every woman watching, your crown isn’t given, it’s grown. Keep rising, keep shining and lift the next woman as you climb. China, I am so proud to watch you carry that light forward.”
