The Strand Surf Lifesaving Club has had a busy two months following the passing of all levels by the nippers, who have since competed in two competitions, one in Big Bay (Blouberg) Lifesaving Club and another at the Fish Hoek Lifesaving Club.
The juniors and seniors also participated in the Big Bay Lifesaving Competition where they showcased their skills and sportsmanship.
“We witnessed some outstanding performances,” reads a statement from the Strand club, “and the camaraderie among our members was truly heartening. Congratulations to all participants.” It added its paddlers too have continued to make waves, immersing themselves in exhilarating action.
At the Big Bay juniors and seniors competition club members Conrad Kriel finished seventh in single-ski, Jess Love made the women’s ski final, the taplin team finished sixth and the beach-relay team finished seventh.
In the nippers’ Fish Hoek competition Isabella Pedersen finished first in the u-11 girls sprints, while in the beach relay for u-14 the following boys finished fifth: Marcel November, Greyson September, Francois Brink and Cilan Naude.
