The Halo (Helping a Little One) team cycled from Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth) to Cape Town (passing through Pringle Bay, Gordon’s Bay, Strand and Somerset West) to raise funds and create awareness for the Tough Living with Cancer (TLC) programme managed by Cansa. The Halo team left Gqeberha on Saturday 5 March and reached the city last Friday. Two days later (13 March) they participated in the Cape Town Cycle Tour. The Halo team includes Hennie and Anita Prinsloo, Andrew Woodburn (pictured while cycling with his fairy wings on), Yasmina Nagdee and Brenton and Adele Long. Woodburn’s daughter, Indigo, is a cancer survivor. She was diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma at the age of four. He decided to ride for her as she finished her treatment in 2016, and has since had her post five-years treatment. “She has now doubled her age, post-diagnosis, so we keep our fingers crossed,” the proud dad said.
