From Saturday 23 September to Monday 25 September, Masincedane Community Service in partnership with Nomzamo, Ikwezi Health Committee, Jerry Bobi Youth Development Projects and other community-based organisations have organised a Heritage Day Sports Tournament.
This tournament, arranged with the support of Department of Health and SAPRIN (South African Population Research Infrastructure Network), will take place at the Lwandle Sports Complex in Nomzamo.
The event comprises u-18 soccer, u-19 rugby and u-18 netball tournaments, which culminates in final matches to be held on 25 September as Heritage weekend celebrations draw to a close.
Live music, prizes, medals and food stalls will contribute to creating a weekend that celebrates sport and community involvement across the Helderberg area.
The upcoming event aims to build, support and develop the community youth sector, and health screenings will also take place at the tournament where health workers will engage with the community on the services rendered by Masincedane Community Service.
