Police officers wearing pink uniforms at Strand Beach showing support for breast cancer survivors — Somerset West police officers traded their traditional blue uniforms for pink as they took to Strand Beach in support of breast-cancer survivors on Wednesday 22 October. The dedicated team strapped on their running shoes and took on a scenic 5 km coastal route, demonstrating solidarity in the fight against breast cancer. Following the walk, the group gathered for a community picnic designed to unite those impacted by this serious disease. The participation was deeply personal for many officers, who have either been directly affected by breast cancer or have watched colleagues and loved ones courageously fight the disease. The event reached its emotional peak with a powerful address from Cecilia Leibrandt, a breast-cancer survivor who recounted her personal experience.
