In a heartwarming display of community spirit, members of the Somerset West Police Station embarked on a mission to spread joy and comfort to those in need.
In October, officers partnered with a local florist to visit various organisations, including Helderberg Hospice and several elderly care facilities, distributing 1 000 roses to residents and patients. The beautiful gesture, which took place during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, brought tears of joy to many faces. The roses were generously donated by a local florist who was inspired to give back to the community in memory of family members who had battled cancer. Despite the race against time in the day’s heat, which caused some flowers to wilt, the thought and love behind the gesture remained unwavering.
