A group of Stellenbosch artists will once again exhibit at First Thursday in Cape Town next week.
The Properties 3.0 exhibition is a group show initiative organised by Marijke Tymbios. The primary incentive behind the Properties series is to provide a space and platform for emerging artists and creatives to showcase their work to a wider audience as a means to launch their careers within the field of visual arts.
The first exhibition was held in December 2016, featuring the creative output of 15 artists who either met in or hail from Stellenbosch.
The group of participating artists has changed over the past two months and the latest edition features work by various artists from Stellenbosch, Cape Town and the surrounds. Properties 3.0 will showcase a fresh batch of creatives who specialise in photography, illustration, mixed media work, painting and sketching. The artists include Shayna Arvan, Beatrix Badenhorst, Heinrich Groenewald, Christine Jacobs, Kyle Jones-Phillipson, Adam Lombard, Mia Louw, Petrus Maree, Rentia Retief, Marguerite Roux, Amy Simons, Francois Taljaardt, Marijke Tymbios, Nikola Vlok, Helen Wells and Tessa Wessels.
Musical entertainment will be provided by the talented Capetonian guitarist and musician Miles Sievwright. As part of First Thursdays Cape Town, the opening of the exhibition launches on Thursday 2 February from 17:00 to 21:00.
It will be held at KnexT Art Gallery, 115 Harrington Street, Cape Town.
