A security officer was shot multiple times in Nomzamo and died from his wounds on the side of the road on Wednesday morning (2 March). It is believed the officer, Sigagayi Siviwe employed by Secure Rite Security, was on his way to pick a colleague up when an unknown assailant attacked him. Siviwe was reportedly robbed of his service firearm and the motive for the incident remains unclear. When emergency services arrived on the scene they declared the officer in his early 30s dead. “Our officers are traumatised by the incident, and we’re working hard to establish the facts,” Secure Rite manager Herman Ras said.
