Parel Vallei High School recently held its 2023 academic prize-giving and staff would like to congratulate all learners who were recognised for sterling achievements at the events.
“It was wonderful to celebrate your achievements with you,” a press release stated. “Our deepest hope is that you will make use of all opportunities offered at PV, grow your talents and develop your leadership abilities so that you can make a difference and lead with pride in our country and, ultimately, in this ever-changing world.
The event was followed with the cultural and sport prize-giving, which was a highlight with former learner Kanya Viljoen as guest speaker.
“Congratulations to each of the learners who were honoured at the cultural prize-giving and in particular to the winners of these special awards. Thank you to Ms Dednam (PV head of music), Mr Spjikers (PV head of culture) and their teams who offer such a wide variety of activities to learners and tackle everything with Blue Thread enthusiasm.”

PV principal David Schenck congratulated learners who excelled in sports. They are Matthew Temmis and Devon Osborne (Senior Sportsman of the Year – shared award), Catherine Mol (Senior Sportswoman of the Year), Stephan Malan (Junior Sportsman of the Year), Eunice Kets (deputy – extramurals). Absent: Meri Sandenbergh (Junior Sportswoman of the Year).
