The popular Stellenbosch Craft Drinks Festival (SCDF) will return to the City of Oaks on Saturday 7 October.
In its latest format the festival aims to offer an intimate outdoor experience of finely crafted local beverages – spirits, liqueurs, ciders, beer and more – paired with quality street food. Enveloped in the beautiful natural surroundings of the centrally located Jan Marais Nature Reserve, visitors are encouraged to take a stroll through the park on route to the festival area.
Narrated by the soothing sounds of talented local musicians, patrons can look forward to classic pop and rock covers, original Afrikaans compositions, reggae, and smooth jazz. Some of the live performers will be The Gingers, Ignite ZA, Van der Aven, Yndian Mynah, and more will be confirmed.
Vendors will encourage guests to enjoy their offerings of good products and product samples as well as participate in fun games and competitions with some crafty prizes.
The event is family- and pet-friendly, and there will also be an inflatable games area and play park available for the young ones. The festival’s annual beer glasses are a favourite for collectors and available as part of your entry fee, or if you opt to not include it you can take along your favourite glass.
The gates to the SCDF opens at 11:00 and promising a day filled with the best in craft beer, distilled beverages (non-alcoholic options are available), artisanal food options and live music to keep your foot tapping and your head bopping until 19:00.
